Lehigh Township: Lions Club to host annual basket party

Lehigh Township Lioness-Lions Clubs are planning an annual basket party 11 a.m.-3 p.m. April 23 at Danielsville Democratic Club, 3980 Mountain View Drive.

There are more than 100 baskets and items. Winners will be drawn 3:15 p.m. You do not need to be present to win.

Refreshments will be available for purchase, and a bake sale will be held.

John Eckhart, a retired Pennsylvania State Police trooper, will give a presentation on his 2018 adventures hiking the Appalachian Trail from Georgia to Maine.

The program will be held 6:30 p.m. April 25 at Hope Lutheran Church, 4131 Lehigh Drive, Cherryville. Light refreshments will be served.

The event is open to all interested, and there will be a freewill offering for Troopers Helping Troopers Foundation.

Salem United Methodist Church, 1067 Blue Mountain Drive, Danielsville, will hold an all-you-can-eat soup sampler dinner April 29.

The dinner includes 12 different homemade soups, salad, assorted breads, dessert and drinks.

There will be two seatings, 3-4:30 p.m. and 5-6:30 p.m.

Reservations and tickets are required. Tickets can be held at the door.

All proceeds from this dinner will be donated to Bath Area Food Bank.

St. Nicholas Catholic Church’s designer purse bingo will be April 30 at Diamond Fire Company, 110 Main St., Walnutport. Doors will open 11:30 a.m., and bingo begins 1 p.m.

Hope Lutheran Church’s Vacation Bible School program is scheduled for July 10-14. Classes are set for 9 a.m.-noon, with a closing program set for 7 p.m. July 14.

The theme is “Totally Submerged.”

Come dive into the Bible with the Gilligan crew on the adventure of a lifetime. Participants will be exploring the wet and wild stories from the ocean floor.

VBS is open to potty trained 3-year-olds to children completing sixth grade in June.
