John Ferreira, 88, of Emmaus, died April 13, 2023, in Abode Care of Allentown.
He was the husband of the late Mary P. (Pilolli) Ferreira.
Born in Coplay, he was a son of the late Joaquin and Anna (Kuchera) Ferreira.
He was an operations specialist for the former Willard Battery and Exide Battery for 37 years before retiring in 1990.
A veteran of the Korean War, he served with the special forces of the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Shriners, the Mercantile Club, Emmaus, and the Long Beach Island Fishing Club.
He spent many years in Little River, S.C. and Lake Placid, Fla. with his companion Cecelia Chuplis.
He enjoyed traveling with his family and fixing stuff.
His survivors include a son John D. Ferreira of Emmaus; sisters-in-law Irene Ferreira of Hokedauqua and Rose Burkhardt and her husband, Carl, of Orefield; brother-in-law Alfonzo Pilolli and his wife, Jeanette, of Allentown; and nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his brothers Jay, Frank and Andrew.
Grave site services with military honors will be 11 a.m. April 20 in Resurrection Cemetery, 547 North Krocks Road, Allentown.
