Gibbons, Batten lead Falcon T&F teams

The Salisbury track and field teams competed against Northwestern Lehigh and Wilson over the past two weeks.

Last week the Tigers swept Salisbury, taking the boys meet 120-30 and winning the girls meet 132-18.

The Falcons had three individual winners in the boys meet at Jacob Gibbons (200), Jairo Suarez (100 hurdles) and Jacob Cadet (long jump) all finished first in one event.

In the girls meet, the Falcons’ Emily Batten won two events (1600, 3200) and Northwestern athletes took first place in all of the rest.

Salisbury’s boys and girls teams both dropped to 0-3 with the losses.

A week before taking on Northwestern, the Falcons faced a Warriors team that was also looking for it’s first wins of the season. Wilson beat Salisbury 107-42 in the boys meet and 112-33 on the girls side.

Gibbons (400), Hernandez (300 hurdles), Joshua Hudak (high jump), William Kocher (triple jump) and Louis Mongulitz (discus) all won events for Salisbury in the boys meet, while Kaitlyn Neuhs (200), Alexandra Miller (pole vault) and Gabriella Pena (discus) won events in the girls meet.
