Carol Pohranichny, 70, of Allen Township, died April 8, 2023, in her home. She was the wife of Dennis Pohranichny for 49 years.

Born in Hokendauqua, she was a daughter of the late Michael and Angela (Stelzman) Matika.

She was a 1970 Whitehall High School graduate and an Allentown School of Cosmetology graduate.

She was in quality control for Hartford and retired in 2013. She worked in customer service for Prudential and AARP for several years.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Rachel Kerchner and husband Scott and Dr. Melissa Heron and husband James of Springfield; four grandchildren, Jacob, Isabella, Alexis and Shane; a great-granddaughter, Amara; and a sister, Barbara Newhart.

She was predeceased by a brother, Edward.
