John Becker has officially announced he is running for reelection to the Northampton Area School District Board of Education, representing Region 1 - Allen and Lehigh townships.

He is cross-filed on both the Democratic and Republican ballots.

Becker has Bachelor of Science and Master’s Equivalency degrees from East Stroudsburg University. He retired after 37 years of teaching in NASD.

He is currently vice president of the board and has served six years on the board.

Becker said he was born on a family farm in Lehigh Township. He still resides on the farm with his wife of 45 years. They have established a small commercial vineyard on the farm with their two sons and four grandchildren.

“I would be honored to continue to serve my constituents from Allen and Lehigh townships. I feel my experience and record as a common-sense member of the board gives me the qualities to continue to serve on the board,” Becker said.
