Alice K. Nero, 102, of Cementon, died April 8, 2023, at her residence. She was the wife of the late John “Jeddo” Nero Jr.

Born in Stiles, she was a daughter of the late Michael and Katie (Klimeck) Haberern.

She was a co-owner and operator of Jeddo’s Toyland & Luncheonette for 38 years before she retired in 1985.

She was a former member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Cementon, and of the church council and choir. After that church closed, she was a member of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, Egypt.

She is survived by three daughters, Linda E. and husband Gregory Heffner, Carol J. Szoke and Janice A. and husband Michael Fetchko, all of Whitehall; 12 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; eight great-great grandchildren; and one great-great-great grandson.

She was predeceased by a son, Gerald; a son-in-law, Frank Szoke; a grandson, Kyle Szoke; and seven siblings.
