BETHLEHEM social calendar 4-19

KITE DAY: In partnership with Lehigh Valley Kite Society and Pocono Kite Symphony, Northampton County Parks & Recreation will sponsor the 31st annual Kite Day in the Park at Louise W. Moore County Park in Lower Nazareth Township from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 6.

This year’s event will honor Andy Gallinas, the founding member of the Lehigh Valley Kite Society and Pocono Kite Symphony. Andy passed away in December 2021.

The program will be held at Pavilion #2 and adjacent open fields on the west side of the park at 151 Country Club Road, Easton.

CASHLESS CELTIC FEST: The 2023 Celtic Classic Highland Games & Festival Sept. 22 to 24 will be a cashless operation this year. There will be a strong promotional campaign from now until the start of the Celtic Classic, so that as many people as possible can be informed in advance.

LATINX BLOCK PARTY: ¡Fiesta Latina! takes place April 29, 6-9 p.m. at Touchstone’s outdoor Barrio Stage (321 E. Fourth St.). Doors open at 5:30 p.m. for first come, first served table seating. Food and drink available for cash or credit card purchase. Live Reggaeton music will be provided by El Elegido, and there will be a spectacular dance performance by Philadelphia’s Danza Azteca del Anahuac, featuring traditional Mexican indigenous dance and drums. FIESTA 2023: The Hispanic Center Lehigh Valley (HCLV) is pleased to announce FIESTA 2023: Ecuador. Please save the date for this year’s gala, which will be held at Wind Creek’s newly renovated Foundry Ballroom Friday, June 23 at 5:30 p.m.

ST. PETER AND ST. JOHN WINDISH CHURCHES FINAL SERVICES: Public Festival of Thanksgiving and Leave-taking : open houses are 8:30 a.m. and services at 10 a.m.; April 23 at St. John’s Windish, 617 E. Fourth St.; and April 30 at St. Peter’s, 474 Vine St. to recognize the legacy and mission of the congregations as they depart the sanctuaries and church buildings.
