In his continuing effort to help residents battle identity theft, Rep. Ryan Mackenzie, R-187th, will be co-hosting a public paper shredder event 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 6 at the Lower Macungie Township Community Center, 3450 Brookside Road, Macungie.
The township and Wehrung’s Lumber and Home Center join Mackenzie in hosting this free event.
Residents are invited to bring up to four boxes of paperwork, the approximate size of carry-on luggage, per vehicle for shredding.
There is no need to remove staples or paper clips, but documents should be taken out of binders and notebooks.
Attendees are asked to remain in their vehicles while staff and volunteers unload the documents to be shredded.
Because this event is meant for documents containing sensitive, identifying information, it is requested that residents not bring items which do not fit this description as these can be thrown out or recycled at home.
This event is for residents only – businesses are kindly asked to dispose of their sensitive documents on their own.
Due to the popularity of these events, no boxes will be accepted prior to the start time.
For more information, call Mackenzie’s office at 610-965-9933 or 833-933-3675 (toll-free).
