Paul Roy Hennessey

Paul Roy Hennessey, 67, died on April 3, 2023 in his home.

Born Oct. 25, 1955, he grew up and lived throughout Pennsylvania including Roaring Spring, Selinsgrove, Greensburg, and the Allentown area.

In 1973, he graduated from Selinsgrove High School, Selinsgrove, Snyder County.

A kind hearted person, he had deep Christian beliefs and loved his children very much.

He had a soft spot in his heart for animals as evidenced by the numerous pets he had during his life.

A very nostalgic person, he meticulously kept and organized various items he received and collected throughout the course of his life.

He also enjoyed working with his hands and in this regard, took after his namesake and maternal grandfather, the late Roy Cooley.

He could easily work on his cars and install and fix items throughout his home.

He enjoyed working in the maintenance department at Dorney Park and Wildwater Kingdom for the last 35 years.

At one point, he retired as an assistant foreperson for a brief period of time to relax and do some work around his home.

However, he soon returned to work part time as a mechanic before deciding to return to full-time in spring 2022.

While working in this position over the last year, he often said he enjoyed working at the park and particularly in a position where he could “just turn a wrench.”

His survivors include a daughter Koreana S. Hennessey of Virginia Beach, Va.; brother James C. Hennessey and wife, Susan, of Northampton; sister-in-law, Judy Y. Hennessey of Sinking Spring; niece Caitlin Hennessey; nephew Mark Hennessey; Uncle Darrell Hastings of Ohio; eight cousins; and his former spouse, Bonnie Brader of Allentown.

He was predeceased by his parents, the Rev. Dr. Joseph B. Hennessey and Dorothy L. (Cooley) Hennessey; brother John M. Hennessey; sister Joanna Joy Hennessey and son Joseph Paul Roy Hennessey.

Donations may be made to the Lehigh County Humane Society or to a humane society of one’s choice.

Arrangements made by Trexler Funeral Home, Allentown.
