Lehigh Valley Academy Regional Charter School thespians bring magic and Gallic charm to the stage in “Disney’s Beauty and the Beast,” 7 p.m. April 22; 1 p.m. April 22, 23, auditorium, Nazareth Area Middle School, 94 Friedenstahl Avenue, Nazareth.

Director Amanda Pascale is assisted by Music Director Christine Sylvestre and Choreographer Sarah Kistler.

With music by Alan Menken, lyrics by Howard Ashman and Tim Rice, and book by Linda Woolverton, the musical is adapted from Disney’s Academy Award-winning 1991 animated feature film of the same title. The film is based on the French fairy tale, “La Belle et la Bête,” by Jeanne-Marie LePrince de Beaumont and published in 1740.

The 1994 Broadway production was nominated for nine Tony Awards, receiving one Tony Award.

Notable songs include “Home,” “If I Can’t Love Her,” “Be Our Guest,” “Something There” and “Tale as Old as Time.”
