Join the 5K Fun Run April 22

The next Salisbury Elementary School Falcon Proud T-shirt day will be April 17. There are only a few more days to show off that Falcon Pride as a school for this year.
It’s time for the Salisbury High School Blood Drive. The drive will be noon to 7 p.m. April 18 in the old gym. Students and staff are able to donate 12:30-2 p.m. and appointments for students, staff and the community are available 2:30-7 p.m. Time slots can be scheduled by visiting www.GIVEaPINT.org and using the sponsor code 0490. The Salisbury Township School District Wellness Committee is holding a 5K Fun Run April 22. The run will start at the high school and there is a small registration fee for all participants. Registration starts 8 a.m. with the race starting 10 a.m., rain or shine. Questions should be directed to Jimmy Hahn @ jhahn@salisburysd.org.
April means it is almost time for standardized assessments in the district. Students at SES will take the Pennsylvania System of School Assessment tests in three sections. English/Language Arts will be April 24-26, math will be May 1-2 and fourth graders will take the science portion May 4.
Students at Salisbury Middle School will take the ELA portion April 25-27, math portion May 1-2 and eighth graders will take the science portion May 4-5.
Those students taking Algebra 1 will also take the Keystone test May 16-17.
Salisbury High School will administer the Keystone assessments to students in Algebra 1 May 15-16, biology May 17-18 and literature May 22-23.
Remember to encourage your students to have a good night’s rest, a healthy breakfast and to focus on just doing their best on these assessments.
Looking forward, the Salisbury Athletic Booster Club is holding a clothing drive June 3 at SHS. The drop off location will be the high school auxiliary gym entrance 9 a.m. to noon. The truck will pick up donations between noon and 1 p.m. For more information, visit www.clothingdrive.net.
As we approach prom season, SHS would like you to know they have a “boutique” of new and gently used prom gowns ranging in all sizes and lengths for those in need. Any student wishing to shop in the boutique is asked to contact Mrs. Morningstar, Mrs. Williams or Mrs. Legath. The boutique is also always accepting donations. Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1707 Church Road, Allentown, will hold a bingo 1 p.m. April 15. Doors open noon. Refreshments will be available. For more information, contact Louise at 610-866-1611.
The Salisbury Township drop-off sites are officially open. The Devonshire site will be open April 13 and 15 and the Franko site will be open April 17, 20 and 22. Hours will remain the same, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday and Thursday and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays.
