“Disney’s Beauty and the Beast” conjures enchantment on the stage, 7 p.m. April 20, 21, 22; 1 p.m. April 22, 23, auditorium, Freedom High School, 3149 Chester Avenue, Bethlehem.

Director Justin Amann is assisted by Assistant Director Natalie Parker, Choreographer Vanessa Ruggiero, Music Director Denise Parker, Prop Mistress and Costumer Priscilla Salazar, Pit Director Michael Moran and Stage Managers Abby Shapiro and Emily Sheridan.

With music by Alan Menken, lyrics by Howard Ashman and Tim Rice, and book by Linda Woolverton, the musical is adapted from Disney’s Academy Award-winning 1991 animated feature film of the same title. The film is based on the French fairy tale, “La Belle et la Bête,” by Jeanne-Marie LePrince de Beaumont and published in 1740.

The 1994 Broadway production was nominated for nine Tony Awards, receiving one Tony Award.

Songs include “Belle,” “Gaston,” “Be Our Guest,” “Human Again” and “Beauty and the Beast.”
