Freedom’s boys tennis team came up on the winning side of three 4-3 matches against Parkland, Nazareth, and Allentown Central Catholic between March 29 and April 3.
The Patriots won their singles matches against the Trojans with Noah Potts defeating Josh Thomas, 7-6(5), 6-3, Gavin Labaddia defeating Lucas Lee, 6-4, 6-1, and Arun Chhugani defeating Kevin Yao, 7-6(7), 6-1.
After losing at three and four doubles, Noah Rodburg and Luke Braido pulled through for the Pates at two doubles, defeating Taehyuk Yang and Rithik Raghuraman, 6-4, 4-6, 6-2.
In Freedom’s match against Nazareth, the Patriots repeated their singles sweep with Potts over Alex Rodriguez, 6-0, 6-0, Labaddia over Gideon Knowles, 4-6, 6-1, 6-2, and Chhugani over Alay Patel, 6-2, 6-0.
The Patriots lost at two, three, and four doubles, however, and Potts and Chhugani teamed up at one doubles to beat Rodriguez and Knowles, 6-1, 6-0.
In Freedom’s match against Central, Potts won against Tim Spinosa, 6-1, 6-0, Labaddia won against Max Zeller, 6-2, 6-0, and Chhugani won against Tanner Temple, 6-1, 6-0.
Rodburg and Braido were the lone doubles winners for the Pates, defeating Victor Manzella and Dan Patruno, 6-4, 6-3.
Freedom will host Moravian Academy in a nonconference match on April 14.
