Allentown Train Meet Associates sponsored a Spring Thaw Train Meet at the Agri~Plex over the weekend of Feb. 25 and 26.

Some 625 dealer tables filled the 50,000-square-foot building with model trains ranging in size from tiny “Z,” and “N” gauge through “HO,” “S,” “O” and large “G.”

Additionally, there were many more scales used in older models or in other locales throughout the world, depending on the country of origin.

One of the dealers on hand was John Rosenberg, of Dubois, Clearfield County.

He shared the story of his Howard Locomotive No. 6, which was made between 1904-05.

The company, however, did not stay in the model railroad business for long, as they invented the first string of Christmas lights and dedicated all their production capabilities to making these holiday favorites.
