Crews respond to Illingsworth Avenue fire

At 11:45 a.m. April 8, the Eastern Salisbury Fire Department was dispatched to a house fire in the 1700 block of Illingsworth Avenue in Salisbury Township.

Fire Chief Ian Dodson was first on scene and reported heavy smoke and visible fire. Once on scene, crews worked quickly to contain the fire. Eastern Salisbury had assistance from other departments including Western Salisbury Volunteer Fire Company, Lower Saucon, Emmaus, Fountain Hill, Greenawalds RIT, St. Luke’s EMS, Upper Saucon, Lower Milford and the Salisbury Township Office of Fire Inspection.

Once the fire is limited on the second floor, crews work on extinguishing the fire which spread to the roof and overhead areas.
