Bethlehem Catholic is trying to gain its footing on the lacrosse field and new head coach Kody Rivera is in charge of that.
The first-year head coach takes over a team that went winless last season and is off to an 0-3 start this season, but that doesn’t change Rivera’s mindset for rebuilding the program.
“With a new coaching staff and a combination of older, experienced players and a core of younger players, we look to make a splash in a very challenging league,” said Rivera.
Returning players for the Hawks are seniors Mark Mulhern (Goalie), Brodi McAllister (Defense/LSM), Ethan Stoss (Midfield/Attack) and Paul Taylor(Midfield/Attack).
Newcomers include Zyaire Morris (Sr., Midfield/Attack), Gianni Morales (Sr., Defense/LSM)
“Defense will be our biggest strength led by Bucknell football commit, Mark Mulhern in goal and Brodi McAllister on defense,” said Rivera. “The biggest question mark is which players step up with many roles to be filled especially on the offensive side of the ball. Seniors Paul Taylor and Ethan Stoss look to bring some experience to both sides of the ball, while Zyaire Morris, Gianni Morales, and Xavier Lopez look to contribute immediately in their first seasons.”
The Hawks have a lone game against Northampton this week before taking on Easton and Parkland next week.
