The comedy “Little Shop of Horrors” chews up the stage, 7 p.m. April 20, 21, 22; 2 p.m. April 23, John F. McHugh Auditorium, William Allen High School, 106 N. 17th St., Allentown.
Director John T. Sechler is assisted by Co-Director and Choreographer Dawn Blanco, Technical Director Marc Hissam, Music Director Brandon Remp, Conductor Eric Moser and Costume Designer Karen Comegys.
Skid Row flower shop employee Seymour cultivates a plant that has an insatiable appetite.
With music by Alan Menken, lyrics and book by Howard Ashman, the rock musical is based on the 1960 comedy film “The Little Shop of Horrors” by Charles B. Griffith.
The musical debuted off-Broadway in 1982 with a movie version in 1986. The 2003 Broadway production was nominated for one Tony Award.
Songs include “Suddenly, Seymour,” “Suppertime,” “Somewhere That’s Green” and “Be a Dentist.”
