John F. Malone
John F. Malone, 95, of Fellowship Community and formerly of Berkeley Heights, N.J., died April 4, 2023. He was the husband of the late Dorothea (Koenig) Malone for 38 years.
Born in Meshoppen, he was a son of the late James and Mildred (Leonard) Malone.
He was a 1945 graduate of Meshoppen High School. He was a 1954 graduate of Penn State University, majoring in accounting, and later obtained his MBA from Rutgers University.
He was in the U.S. Army from 1946 to 1947, earning the rank of sergeant. He was assigned to the GHQ public relations section at General MacArthur’s Headquarters in Tokyo, Japan.
He worked for Westinghouse Electric in New Jersey 1955-85 as an auditor and financial planning manager. He then worked for Philips in New Jersey 1985-95 in inventory management.
He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Whitehall.
He is survived by son, Steven J. Malone of Whitehall; a grandson, Christian of Whitehall; two brothers, Joseph and wife Alice and James and wife Susan; two sisters, Margaret Councilman and husband William and Mary Morrissey; nieces; nephews; and extended family.
He was predeceased by a sister, Katherine Ross; a brother, Raymond Malone and wife Pauline; and a brother-in-law, Tom Morrissey.
There will be visitation 9:30 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian burial, April 13 at the church, 4102 S. Church St., Whitehall. Interment services will be offered noon April 15 on his family plot in St. Joachim Catholic Cemetery, Meshoppen, followed by military honors bestowed by Black Walnut American Legion Post 510.
