Erika Kern Kurtz, 84, died April 8, 2023. She was the wife of the late John Kurtz Sr. for 59 years.

Born in Strem, Austria, she was a daughter of Stefan and Maria (Fuchs) Kern. She immigrated to the U.S. at age 17.

She was a hand sewer at the former Cross Country Clothes, Northampton.

She was a member of Queenship of Mary Catholic Church, Northampton.

She is survived by three daughters, Erika Figura with Gregory, Anita Iasiello with Thomas and Linda Schlofer with Michael; a son, John Jr. with Sherry Richardson; six grandchildren, Andrea, Alyssa, Kyle, Jared, Olivia and Mason; two great-grandchildren, Hayley and Ethan; a sister, Maria Schadl of Austria; nieces; and nephews.

She was predeceased by twin brothers, Eric and Alfred.

There will be a calling time 8:45-9:45 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian burial 10 a.m., April 15 at the church, 1324 Newport Ave., Northampton, 18067.

Contributions may be made to the church to benefit the parish festival.
