Coplay: Saengerbund plans dances
Coplay Saengerbund, 205 S. Fifth St., will hold a country-western dance 2-6 p.m. April 16. Joe Kroboth Band is entertaining.
Line dancing instruction by Valerie will begin 2 p.m.
Door prizes are offered by the club’s heritage committee.
The dance is open to members and guests.
Also, the Saengerbund’s Viennese Ball event is set for 3-6 p.m. April 30. Emil Schanta Band will perform.
Come dressed in traditional ball attire, such as black tie or white bow tie, tuxedo, vest, suit and jacket for men and ballgown, long skirt, fancy dress and hair adornments for women.
There is a cost for members and guests.

The next Son of the Congregation sermon at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 18 S. Third St., will be the 10:30 a.m. service April 23. These services are intended to celebrate the church’s 150th anniversary.
The Rev. Donald Simmons will present the sermon. All are invited.
A coffee and cake reception will be held afterward.

American Club of Coplay, 300 Cherry St., is holding a dance night at its pavilion April 28.
The doors open 5 p.m. The kitchen will be open. There is a cash bar.
The club continues to offer its monthly hoagie sales. Hoagies (regular or tuna) and sandwiches (ham and cheese or tuna) are available.

St. John’s Lutheran Church is planning a sandwich pickup lunch 10-11:30 a.m. April 29. The menu includes ham and cheese or turkey and cheese sandwiches, chips and a dessert.
Cost is by donation; proceeds are for the church renovation fund.
