DISTRICT
FALSE 911 CALLS: We are aware that several local districts have been the victim of FALSE 911 calls March 29 reporting an active shooter situation. Northampton County Emergency Management and the county 911 center have received these calls, referred to as “swatting” calls. Our BASD Coordinator of School Safety and Emergency Management is in touch with the county Emergency Management and local law enforcement to monitor. Our principals and SROs are aware. Any 911 call we might receive regarding an active shooter will be treated as real and will trigger an immediate response internally as well as from law enforcement. Law enforcement will then clear the emergency response when we are certain the school is safe. We will inform parents should this unfortunate “swatting” situation impact a BASD school.
Sincerely,
Dr. Joseph Roy,
BASD superintendent
