After winning the first two games of the 2023 over Abington Heights and Allen, the Emmaus High School softball team continued its winning ways and stayed undefeated with a victory over East Stroudsburg South on March 29.
The Hornets suffered their first loss of the season the next day in non-league play against Governor Mifflin and then were handed their first conference defeat against Whitehall to conclude a span of three games in three days after an eight-day layoff between the Allen and ESS games.
The win over the Cavaliers gave Emmaus a 3-0 start to the season. Rain outs caused three postponements and the eight day layoff from March 21-29.
The Hornets were shutout against Governor Mifflin, 10-0. The next day against the Zephyrs, they came up just short of staying undefeated in the EPC, falling 4-3.
The Green Hornets are 3-2 overall and 2-1 in the EPC, tied with Parkland (2-2, 2-1) and one-half game behind leaders Northampton (5-0, 4-0) and Whitehall (5-0, 4-0) for first in the West Division.
