The Emmaus boys track and field squad had little trouble in securing a win last Tuesday afternoon over Central Catholic 120-30 at Emmaus High School.
The ability and talent were on display against Central. Speedy Kyle Moore took the 100-meter dash while teammate Marcus Puentes won the 200 and Lane Bassett won the 400 dash by half second.
“Marcus has worked his way right into both sprints and pole vaulting,” Reinhard said. “He is a strong overall athlete.”
The distance runners represented their school well. Tyler Finck was best in the 800, while Conor Fisher claimed the 1,600 race and Oscar Felegy won the 3,200-meter race.
Lucian Facchiano and Ben Price won the 110 and 300 hurdles, respectively.
The relays were a clean sweep for the Hornets with the 4x400 team of Blaise Verrastro, Brett Pevec, Bassett and Finck winning by 28 seconds over the second-place Viking squad.
Lucian Freeman took the high jump and Tyler Grabinski won the pole vault. Evan Loro was tops in the long jump and triple jump, while Tyriq Smith.
Up next for Emmaus are visits from Whitehall on April 4 and Easton on April 6.
