April 5
Grace Lutheran Church, 28 W. Main St., Macungie, will hold a free food distribution 2 to 4 p.m. Also April 12, 19 and 26. Signs will be posted regarding parking and which door to use to pick up food.
The Lower Macungie Community Book Club will meet 2-3 p.m. in the multipurpose room of the Lower Macungie Library, 3450 Brookside Road, Macungie. They will discuss “Remarkably Bright Creatures” by Shelby Van Pelt. All are welcome. Contact Sandra Perez at 678-576-9796 for further information.

St. Peter’s Union Church, 7863 St. Peters Road, Macungie, will host a Maundy Thursday Worship Service 7 p.m. All are welcome.

April 8
Upper Milford Western District Fire Company No. 1 will host a free Easter Egg Hunt 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the station, 6341 Chestnut St., Zionsville. Fire truck tours, a coloring contest, pictures with the Easter bunny and raffle baskets will be offered as well.
The Vera Cruz Community Association will host its annual Easter Egg Hunt at Mystic Chain Park, rain or shine, starting promptly 1 p.m. The park is located at 3718 Main Road East. Weather permitting, the eggs will be placed on the lawn for the participants to find. In case of rainy weather, the egg hunt will be a drive-thru event. Come early.
The Mountainville/Alton Park Lions Club Easter Egg Hunt will be held 1:30 p.m. at Percy Ruhe Park. There are four age groups up to age 10 and special prize eggs.
April 13
The Allentown Garden Club will meet 10 a.m. in the fellowship hall at Emmaus Moravian Church, 146 Main St., Emmaus. The presentation will be on PHS, Gold Medal Plants. All are welcome.
April 14
Grace Lutheran Church, 28 W. Main St., Macungie, will hold a free community meal in the church fellowship hall 4 to 5:30 p.m. The menu is turkey barbecue, macaroni salad, chips and a dessert. Takeout meals will be available.
April 16
Cash bingo at Macungie Memorial Park, lower level, Route 100 and North Poplar Street, Macungie. Doors open noon. Games begin 1 p.m. Bingo benefits Friends of the Macungie Institute. For more information, call 610-966-7830.

The Emmaus Historical Society will present a program 7 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church Parish Hall, 501 Chestnut St., Emmaus. Storyteller Kathy Long, of Lehighton, will present “A Night of Stories and How to Tell Your Own.” Long promotes the written technique of “Life Journaling” to encourage the young and the young at heart to write and preserve their stories for future generations. Programs are free to the public.

The Friends of the Emmaus Public Library will host the 23rd annual Spring Used Book Sale at Lower Macungie Middle School, 6299 Lower Macungie Road. A preview night for Friends members will be held 6-8 p.m. April 21. The public sale will begin 8 a.m. April 22 with a brown bag blowout 2 to 2:45 p.m. The sale includes children’s books, fiction and nonfiction books, puzzles and more. Free family movie night sponsored by Girl Scout Troop 6931 at the Macungie Institute, 510 E. Main St., Macungie. Doors open 6:30 p.m.; movie begins 7 p.m. Snacks will be available for sale. The movie will be “Puss In Boots The Last Wish.”
April 29
Local artisans and crafters fair at the Macungie Institute, 510 E. Main St., Macungie, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event includes handmade items by up to 65 local artisans and crafters. Friends of the Macungie Institute will sell hot dogs. There will also be a basket raffle with all proceeds going toward community events at the Macungie Institute.
May 11
The Friends of the Emmaus Public Library will host a bus trip to the Morgan Library and Museum in New York City. The bus will depart 8 a.m. from The Lutheran Church of the Holy Spirit, 3461 S. Cedar Crest Blvd. and return approximately 6 p.m. the same day. The trip includes a guided tour of the Morgan Library, as featured in the 2021 bestseller “The Personal Librarian,” lunch and sightseeing. There is a cost. Space is limited and reservations must be made by April 10. Proceeds benefit the Emmaus Public Library. Call 570-259-0200 with questions.

Macungie Flea Market 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. sponsored by the Friends of the Macungie Institute and Macungie Memorial Park (previously the Lions Club Flea Market) at Macungie Memorial Park, 50 N. Poplar St. Over 300 spaces for vendors. Free to the public.
