Adopt a butterfly to beautify the town

Macungie Town Beautification is once again offering butterfly adoptions. For an adoption cost, a 21-inch butterfly will be placed on Main Street in May and remain there until mid-August. Adoption forms are available on the “Macungie Town Beautification” Facebook page or at The Macungie Institute or Macungie Borough Hall office. For more information, email ppetites@ptd.net.

Grace Lutheran Church, 28 W. Main St., will offer its free community meal in the church fellowship hall 4-5:30 p.m. April 14. Takeout service will also be available.

Grace Lutheran Church holds a weekly food distribution 2-4 p.m. every Wednesday, April 5, 12, 19 and 26. Signs will be posted with directions for parking and pickup.

During the month of April, there will be meetups for Mahjong, a grief peer network, home-school board games and fiber arts club at the Macungie Institute, 510 E. Main Street. There will also be a cookie decorating class. There will be an Artisan and Crafters Fair 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 29. Girl Scout Troop 6931 will host a family movie night 7 p.m. April 21. The first cruise night of the season will begin 3 p.m. April 15 at Macungie Memorial Park. Vehicles will start arriving 2 p.m. and the DJ starts 4 p.m. For more information, call 610-966-4289.

The Friends of the Macungie Institute will hold bingo 1 p.m. April 16 at Macungie Memorial Park. There will also be food for purchase and a bake sale and basket raffle. Doors open noon. There will be a Spring Into The Park Craft and Vendor Show 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 15 at Macungie Memorial Park. There will be shopping, food trucks, music and games.

There will be a K4K and Fur Mama Spring Craft Fair 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 23 at Macungie Memorial Hall in Macungie Park.

The Macungie Farmers Market will open for the season 4-7 p.m. May 11 on Lumber Street, just off Main Street, Macungie.

Macungie Memorial Park will hold a Macungie Flea Market 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 13 at Macungie Memorial Park. Breakfast and lunch will be available for purchase as well as shoofly pie.

The next meetings for the Lower Lehigh AARP will be noon April 6 and May 4 in the lower level of Macungie Memorial Hall. For more information, contact Dot at 610-967-3284.

Macungie Borough Council has in person public meetings at the Macungie Institute. The next meetings will be 7:30 p.m. April 17 and May 1.

Cash bingo is held weekly Saturday evenings at Macungie Memorial Park. Doors open 4:30 p.m. and games begin 6:30 p.m. For more information, call 610-966-4289.
