Whitehall Township Public Library: Creative STEM program for children scheduled for April 19

Creation Station, featuring creative construction, will be 6 p.m. April 19.

Children in grades 3-6 can enjoy an evening of STEM activities.

Registration is required.

There will be a presentation on the challenges and survival of honey bees 6:30 p.m. April 20.

Honey bees are vital parts of our ecosystem, acting as highly efficient pollinators of our food crops as well as for wild flora. Hear local beekeeper Tom Lindeman talk about honey bees, their environment and the challenges to their survival.

Registration is requested.

Join the library’s adult book club - On the Same Page. This club will meet 6:30 p.m. the third Thursday of the month, every other month. Books will be loaned as availability allows.

The reading schedule will include the following books: “The Personal Librarian,” April 26; “Under the Whispering Door,” June 15; “Black Cake,” Aug. 17; “Home Before Dark,” Oct. 19; and “Firekeeper’s Daughter,” Nov. 16.

Registration is required.

A Good Yarn is the newest club at the library.

Whether you work with hooks or needles, yard or thread, you’re welcome to join. The club will meet 2-4 p.m. the first and third Thursday of each month.

The library’s spring book sale is scheduled for 9 a.m.-3 p.m. April 28 and 29.

There is a bag sale set for noon-3 p.m. April 29. You must use the paper grocery bag provided by the library.

Donations of gently used books, puzzles, DVDs and CDs are being accepted.

Support our summer reading program by donating new toys or kits to be used as reading incentive prizes for toddlers to teens.

April’s museum pass spotlight is Pearl S. Buck International, 520 Dublin Road, Perkasie.

Celebrate National Library Week with a visit to Pearl S. Buck’s home. Pearl S. Buck is a Pulitzer Prize-winning author with an estate in Bucks County. You can tour the home, explore the award-winning gardens and learn more about Pearl S. Buck and her legacy.

Museum passes are free with your LCLC library card. The pass allows for two adults and four children into the museum. Passes must be checked out and returned to the Whitehall library circulation desk.

Late fees apply.

Regular library hours are set for 9 a.m.-8 p.m. Mondays-Thursdays and 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays.
