Shirley V. Hertzog, 94, of Topton, formerly of Emmaus, died March 27, 2023, at The Lutheran Home at Topton. She was the loving wife of the late Earl S. Hertzog. Born in Pleasant Corners, she was a daughter of the late Wilmer and Perma J. (Leiby) Smith.
She graduated from Rutgers School of Nursing. She was a registered nurse at Cedarbrook Nursing Home for many years. Before that she worked at Reinmiller Convalescent Home in Emmaus.
She was a member of St. John’s U.C.C., Emmaus.
She is survived by her son, James S. and his wife, Gerri; daughter-in-law Donna, wife of the late David; grandchildren, Brian, Karen, Lauren, Michael, Haley; great-grandchildren, Sadie and Tucker; brother, Lewis Smith and his wife, Eunice. She was predeceased by an infant daughter, Anne; a son, David P., a brother Jimmy Smith.
