Coplay Public Library held a spring book and bake sale event March 24 and 25.
Library Board President Janet Eisenhauer, also a member of Coplay Borough Council, was delighted at the event’s success. Eisenhauer said March 24 was the busiest day of all the book and bake sales held in recent years at the library, 49 S. Fifth St.
Eisenhauer also said the baked goods were nearly sold out by noon March 25. Baked goods - a variety of cakes, cupcakes, brownies, kiffles and more - are donated by supporters of the library.
The sale also featured a basket social and 50/50 raffle.
The library requested donations of items for the Coplay Food Bank.
The event was run by interim library director Sharon Dougherty and staff, as well as library board members.
