Coplay Recreation and Welfare Association is holding its annual Easter egg hunt - for children age 8 and under - 1 p.m. April 8, rain or shine, on the grounds of St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, 4 S. Fifth St.

Easter typically falls on the first Sunday after Passover. This year, it is April 9.

Easter’s name has pagan origins from the goddess of fertility, Ostara, whose symbol was the hare. Bunnies, little chicks, eggs and flowers are symbols of rebirth and fertility.

This event is open to members and their guests only. There is no cover.

The Saengerbund will hold a country-western dance 2-6 p.m. April 16.

The Joe Kroboth Band is entertaining.

Line dancing instruction by Valerie will begin 2 p.m.

American Club of Coplay, 300 Cherry St., is holding a dance night at its pavilion April 28.

The doors open 5 p.m. The kitchen will be open. There is a cash bar.

The Saengerbund’s Viennese Ball event is set for 3-6 p.m. April 30.

Emil Schanta Band will perform.

Come dressed in traditional ball attire, such as black tie or white bow tie, tuxedo, vest, suit and jacket for men and ballgown, long skirt, fancy dress and hair adornments for women.

There is a cost for members and guests.

Coplay Borough is seeking a vendor for the municipal pool concession stand, a pool manager, pool lifeguards and a pavilion cleaner.

The deadline to apply is March 31.

The Coplay Food Bank is open 8:30-10 a.m. the second Tuesday of every month in the lower level of the municipal building, 98 S. Fourth St.
