Wooden Match Weekend

St. Patrick’s Day cooks up thoughts of corned beef and cabbage, but those celebrating at The Wooden Match’s St. Patrick’s Day Weekend Bash hit the Irish Sweepstakes for their taste buds with a variety of savory fare, such as the debut of Pat’s Pizza Trailer, the on-the-road extension of Pat’s Pizza and Bistro.

“We’re pretty excited trying out our new truck – there are a lot of hungry people,” said Pat’s Pizza and Bistro owner Yianni Kyziridis.

This year marked the first time Pat’s was part of the St. Patrick’s Day Weekend Bash March 17-19, which is always one of the most popular weekends at The Wooden Match. But Pat’s is no stranger to the local festival scene, having been serving up tasty fare at events including Musikfest and Christkindlmarkt.

“We’ve been at Musikfest for a few years, and the trailer makes it easier and more compact to go to other places,” Kyziridis said.

The custom-made pizza trailer features a new gas-and-wood fired brick oven and stainless steel kitchen equipment.

Pat’s menu choices at the bash included personal artisan pizzas such as plain, pepperoni, margherita, Nonna’s Meatball and Buffalo chicken, as well as a sampling of yummy appetizers including cheesesteak eggrolls and Buffalo chicken meatballs.

Kyziridis said Pat’s also offers the option to rent the pizza trailer for events, so when Pat’s isn’t traveling to events with the trailer, the staff will handle people’s request for a private party or corporate event.

Pat’s will take its new trailer to the Live in the Garden Concert Series, which the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce will launch in May on Saturdays in the Bethlehem Rose Garden.

Pat’s Pizza and Bistro, which opened in November 2017 at 1426 W. Broad St., introduced a new Sunday Brunch menu April 2.

Those feting the wearin’ o’ the green could also enjoy food trucks from Slide On By!, Taco Town, Lehigh Valley BBQ and K-Town Taphouse.

In addition to food trucks, the bash offered live music, entertainment, outside bars, cigars and games, vendors, Jameson Tents and Irish Whiskey vendors.

Yianni Kyziridis, owner of Pat's Pizza and Bistro, is ready to welcome customers to Pat's new brick oven pizza trailer, which made its debut March 17 at the three-day St. Patrick's Day Weekend Bash at The Wooden Match.
