WINE EVENTS RETURN: It’ll be an evening of great wine and fancy clothes, capped off with a thrilling race when ArtsQuest hosts the Run for the Rosé Derby Watch Party. Produced in partnership with Noble Oak, this fashionable fête will be held Saturday, May 6 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Air Products Town Square and Capital Blue Cross Creativity Commons at SteelStacks. Jay Nee of Juniper and Grain is back offering a tasting of rosés from near and far and the 149th running of the Kentucky Derby will be broadcast live on a large LED screen. ArtsQuest, in partnership with Upper Macungie Township and Sports and Social Allentown, announces the sixth annual SangriaFest, scheduled for Sept. 2, at Grange Park. Tickets are on sale now at ArtsQuest.org. The event runs from 4 (3 p.m. for premium access hour) to 7 p.m. Premium access hour includes four exclusive sangria samples, catered menu, exclusive access to a private bar, air-conditioned restrooms and access to VIP parking. Please note there are a limited number of tickets to this event and there is no guarantee that tickets will be available day-of or at the gates. This is a 21+ event.

GARDEN CLUB APRIL MEETING: The Bethlehem Garden Club will hold its April meeting April 23, at the Moravian Church, 3730 Jacksonville Road at 1 p.m. and the program will begin at 1:30. The program, “Spring Sensations,” will be presented by Renee Tucci, a floral design educator and consultant from Philadelphia. Light refreshments will be served.

FOOD EXPERT TO SPEAK: International speaker and author Jon Steinman will present “Who Owns Your Grocery Store?”, a program highlighting what food co-ops offer in the age of giant grocery stores. His talk will also focus on what food co-ops need to grow and thrive, and how they can support a community economy.

The program, which is free and open to the public, will be held April 15 from 1:30-3:30 p.m. at the Wilbur Mansion Event Center, 201 Cherokee St., Bethlehem. It will also be offered online, via Zoom.

Steinman’s presentation is sponsored by the Bethlehem Food Co-Op, which is working to bring a community-owned, ‘everyone welcome’ grocery store to 250 E. Broad St., Bethlehem. The full service market, which currently has over 1300 members, is expected to open later this year.

The first 25 to register will receive a copy of Steinman’s book, Grocery Story, that can be picked up at the in person event; one per household.

TRANS-BRIDGE RESERVATIONS: Trans-Bridge Lines has announced that it will offer a reservation experience beginning Monday, April 3, on its Doylestown/Flemington routes. All trips will offer passengers confirmed bus runs for the travel date and time booked.

Trans-Bridge Lines will transition to reservations beginning with their Doylestown/Flemington schedules before incorporating their Wall Street, Newark Airport and Allentown/Clinton routes.

In addition to confirmed seating, the company continues to work closely with their technology vendor to provide augmented features for easy online ticketing, as well as Apple and Google Wallet capability for quick access to boarding passes.

BANANA FACTORY BLOCK PARTY: ArtsQuest invites the community to a free, family-friendly Block Party, being held at the Banana Factory Arts Center, 25 W. Third St., on Bethlehem’s SouthSide, Saturday, May 20. The event, taking place from noon to 6 p.m., will feature live music, exhibitions, art workshops and more.

Formerly known as the SouthSide Arts & Music Festival (SSAMF), this one-day art-inclusive celebration will feature a variety of programming, all free to the community.

Featured vendors include The Bethlehem Area Public Library, The Wicked Botanist and MAKE Lehigh Valley. Food will be provided by local food trucks and a cash bar will be available.
