Special to The Press

The South Whitehall Township Police Department had a graduation ceremony in February for students in its Citizens’ Police Academy.

This was the second 10-week program presented by the department.

The academy is designed to introduce residents of South Whitehall to the operations and procedures used by police in their day-to-day operations.

Among the subjects learned were motor vehicle stops, community policing, criminal investigation, K-9 patrol and detection, personal safety and crime scene analysis.

Twenty-seven South Whitehall residents took part in this class.
