The Parkland School District hosted a Community Resource Fair, Health Symposium and New Parent Social March 18 in the school cafeteria.

The program included children’s activities, a cooking demonstration by high school students, and a mock teen bedroom to help parents identify possible drug and alcohol use.

Eighty agencies were on hand to provide information about their services.

The Parkland Strolling Strings performed for visitors.

Ten health and wellness workshops were presented each hour.

“The event is designed to spread awareness of services available to families and includes recreational programs, social service agencies, nonprofits and other community-based agencies that serve the community,” said school district Director of Community Relations and Development Nicole McGalla.
