Loretta K. Ferrel, 83, of Blue Barn Road, Upper Macungie Township, died peacefully March 23, 2023, in Lower Macungie Township.
She was the wife of the late Warren T. Ferrel Jr. who died in 2005.
Born in Northampton, she was a daughter of the late George J. and Alfreda (Schaffer) O’Brien.
A cashier with the former Thrift-Eckerd Drug Store, Allentown, for several years until retiring in 2005, she also worked for G.A.C. Finance, Allentown, for 16 years, and was a school crossing guard for the Allentown School District.
She was a member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, Northampton, and a 1957 graduate of the Northampton High School.
A member of the Guthsville Rod and Gun Club, she enjoyed trap shooting there.
She enjoyed crocheting and working on plastic canvasses.
Her survivors include a son, George T. and wife, Suzanne, of Macungie; grandchildren Jordan, and Tyler; sisters Dawn I. Mohrey and Lynne Schlager, both of Northampton, Bonnie, wife of Dale Schoenberger, of Casa Grande, Ariz.; brothers Dale O’Brien of Ohio, and Gary and wife, Cindy, of Northampton; and nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by sister Faye Stubits; and brothers Lee and Dennis.
Services will be 11 a.m. March 31 at Schisler Funeral Home, 2119 Washington Ave., Northampton.
Call 10-11 a.m. Friday in funeral home.
Interment at Cedar Hill Memorial Park, Airport Road, Allentown.
