Charles E. Lenhart Jr.

Charles E. Lenhart Jr., 89, of Kempton, died on March 22, 2023, with his loving wife of more than 58 years, Bernice A. (Henry) Lenhart, by his side.

Born in Kempton, he was a son of the late Charles E. Lenhart Sr. and the late Hattie (Billig) Lenhart.

A 1951 graduate of Kutztown Area High School, he was a U.S. Army veteran having served his country from 1956-58.

He spent many years farming on his parents’ family farm in Kempton and went on to drive truck for the former Maislin Trucking Co., Allentown, and later for Pitt-Ohio Trucking Co, Coopersburg, until retirement.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughters Deborah Scott of Oklahoma, Michele J. (Rick Fehlinger) Hazzard of Catasauqua, and Charlene Silva of New Tripoli; sons Charles Lenhart III and wife, Cindy, of Kutztown, Michael (Judy) Lenhart of New Tripoli, Shane (Stacey) Lenhart at home, Scott (Aime) Lenhart of Pottstown, and Ryan (Becky) Lenhart of Kutztown; 18 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; sisters Anna (Herbert) Bieber of Kuhnsville, and Florence Metzger of New Tripoli.

He was predeceased by a son David Lenhart and siblings George Lenhart and Mary Waidelich.

Memorial contributions may be sent to the funeral home to help off-set his final expenses.
