A group of Parkland swimmers competed in the state championship meet at Bucknell University last weekend.
Senior Ryan Beltrame, a District 11 champ, had the best finish of the group, taking 15th place in the boys diving event.
The District 11 champion girls medley relay team took 26th place at states. The foursome of Simone Lin, Kelsey McPeek, Milla Hahn and Madison Roseman swam the event in 1:51.23.
Lin, a senior, capped her high school career by swimming in three events at states. In addition to the relay, Lin placed 23rd overall in the 500-yard freestyle in 5:13.56. She also finished 24th in the 200-yard freestyle in 1:56.11.
Hahn, a freshman who won two individual events at districts, took 28th place at states in the individual medley in 2:16.95 and then swam to 31st place in the 100-yard butterfly in 1:01.71.
Another freshman, Kelsey McPeek, swam in one event at states. The District 11 champ in butterfly, McPeek finished 28th in the event at Bucknell with a time of 1:09.13.
North Allegheny took this year’s girls team title with 194 points, followed by Hatboro-Horsham (176), Conestoga (161), State College (158) and Mt. Lebanon (125.5) edging Hershey (124.5) for fifth place.
Philadelphia-area teams claimed the top four spots in the boys team standings. Lansdale’s North Penn won the team title with 212. LaSalle Prep (189.5) was second with Conestoga (161) third, Springfield of Delaware County (136) fourth and Wilson West Lawn (126) fifth.
