Whitehall High School punches the clock with “9 to 5,” at 7 p.m. March 30, 31, April 1; 2 p.m. April 2, auditorium, Whitehall High School, 3800 Mechanicsville Road, Whitehall.
Director Cara Craft is assisted by Choreographer Melissa Zimmer and assistant directors Elaine Ramirez and Kendra Saunders.
Three office coworkers, Violet Newstead, Doralee Rhodes and Judy Bernley, working under oppressive conditions at Consolidated Industries, decide to rebel against their domineering and lecherous boss.
The musical, with music and lyrics by Dolly Parton and book by Patricia Resnick, is based on the 1980 film of the same title by Colin Higgins and Resnick.
The musical, which opened on Broadway in 2009, received four Tony Award nominations.
Notable songs include “9 to 5,” “I Just Might,” “Change It,” “Shine Like the Sun” and “Get Out and Stay Out.”
