Spring brings Career Exploration Fair and Senior Ball to EHS

The East Penn School District Education Foundation will collaborate with the Emmaus High School Counseling Department to host a Career Exploration Fair 6-8 p.m. March 28 in the EHS Gymnasium. Open to all Lehigh Valley students, the event will showcase over 50 career representatives, offering knowledge on various occupational pathways. Admission is free. Habitat for Humanity will host its annual spaghetti dinner 5-6:30 p.m. April 1 in Cafeteria 1. All proceeds will benefit Habitat for Humanity of the Lehigh Valley, which builds homes for local low-income families. To attend the dinner, purchase tickets in Room 513. Alternatively, tickets can be obtained through any club member or mrusso@eastpennsd.org.
For seniors only, Senior Ball tickets will be sold April 3-5 during all lunch blocks. In addition, tickets may be purchased 6:50-7:15 a.m. in Room 539 or 2:25-3 p.m. in Room 575. With a limited number of seats, students are encouraged to purchase tickets early.
Guest tickets will be available April 11-21. For students who do not regularly enter the EHS building, such as those in Lehigh Career & Technical Institute or VESPA, tickets may be purchased in the main office April 3-21. Visit the “Class of 2023” Schoology page for full details.
The fourth marking period will begin April 4. Before this date, students are advised to check their PowerSchool schedules to note any class changes.
In observance of Passover and Easter, students will be dismissed 11 a.m. April 5.
Following this, the school district will be closed April 6-10.

Now through April 28, students from Room 308 will host a pet drive for Peaceable Kingdom, a Whitehall-based animal shelter. The donation list includes animal food, treats, toys and cleaning supplies. Donations may be left in boxes near the main office, cafeteria doors, lobby near Door #3 or auditorium lobby. For full details, visit https://www.lvpeaceablekingdom.info/.
Current juniors and seniors may apply to Lehigh University’s Summer Engineering Institute, which offers a variety of collaborative projects, classroom discussions and field trips relating to engineering. STEM subspecialties, such as nanoscience and robotics, will also be covered.
The in-person session will run June 25 to July 8, while the virtual session will run July 10-21. Applicants are recommended to hold a GPA above 3.5, reside in an underrepresented population or be first-generation college students, but these criteria are not required.
