Barry L. Schuler

Barry L. Schuler, 75, of Whitehall, died March 16, 2023, at home. He was the husband of Patricia A. (Payonk) for 46 years.

Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Warren “Joe” and Marion (Mumbower) Schuler.

He was a 1965 graduate of William Allen High School.

He was in the U.S. Army. He was deployed 1967-68 in the Vietnam War in the first infantry, during the Tet offensive. He received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, one Overseas Service Bar and Combat Infantryman and Sharpshooter Badges.

He worked at R&S Printers, Northampton, for many years. He retired from the city of Allentown.

He was a member of the Egypt Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7293, Catasauqua American Legion Riders and Lehigh Valley HOG. He bowled with the Monday Nighters at Jordan Lanes, Whitehall, for many years.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Tiffany James and husband Peter; two grandsons, Mason and Brady; a father-in-law, John Payonk Sr.; nieces and nephews, including godson, Brent Frisch and niece Debra Bartosiewicz and her husband Mark; and three sisters-in-law, Cindy Frisch, Lisa Mack and Sherri Payonk.

He was predeceased by a mother-in-law, Alice Dias with Gabriel; and a brother-in-law, John Payonk Jr.

There will be a calling time 9 a.m. until the prayer service begins 11 a.m. March 23 at the funeral home, 326 E. 21st St., Northampton, 18067.
