National Honor Society induction ceremony March 30

Spring sports have started and games are right around the corner.

Boys tennis had their first two matches of the season against Quakertown and Kutztown.

The baseball and softball teams will have their first official games March 17 and March 18. Baseball will play William Allen March 17 and both teams will play Dieruff March 18. Matches and games are subject to change due to potential weather conditions.

Salisbury High School Theatre will perform “9 to 5,” a musical created by Dolly Parton, this week and weekend. The opening performance is 7 p.m. March 16. Other shows 7 p.m. March 17 and 18 and 2 p.m. March 19. Tickets can be purchased at the door and all are welcome. Snacks and refreshments will also be for sale as National Honor Society members are volunteering their time to help.

NHS members have voted for students who wish to hold leadership positions within the organization for the 2023-2024 school year. Voting was conducted March 13 and 14. Winners of the election will be announced at the induction ceremony later this month.

The NHS induction ceremony will be held March 30. This ceremony will induct new sophomore and junior students that excel both academically and in the community. NHS presidents, in addition to others who hold leadership positions, will give speeches about what it means to be an NHS member. The induction ceremony will start 7 p.m. in the high school auditorium and doors will open before 6:30 p.m.

NHS is also planning and holding an Easter Egg Hunt April 6, which is the first day of spring break. This event will be held 10 a.m. to noon on the turf and other fields at SHS. Those who have signed up are in for a treat as NHS members have been filling eggs and getting ready for this event.

SHS Key Club just finished their Wawa hoagie card fundraiser which was a huge success. The club raised over $700 and plans on using that money to go toward Special Olympics and the LVCC Childcare Picnic they help with every year. Also, this money will help the club start planning events for the next school year.
