Public Library of Catasauqua: Escape with a great book this spring at the Catasauqua library
Springtime can be the most magical time of the year. Winter is moving on, and spring is peeping around the corner.
Cherry blossoms are beginning to show, and the forsythia is a bright harbinger of spring.
Soon our children’s room will be decorated for spring, with all the books displayed to teach and delight young readers. Amy has some great spring crafts for her group. If you’re a young reader and love to hear stories and take part in craft activities, then come along 4 p.m. Thursdays.
We also have books for adults that are set in springtime and sweep from romance to adventure by way of mysteries.
“Spring” by Ali Smith is a story about a film buff who contemplates making a film about two writers to focus away from his own life.
“Spring” by Alana Willoughby is a book for young children.
“Sweet Bean Paste” by Durian Sukegawa is a story of a disgruntled employee and an elderly lady. It is set in cherry blossom time in Japan. The employee runs a dorayaki shop, making pancakes. The old lady makes a sweet bean paste. It’s a perfect match!
