Coplay: St. John’s will host movie night March 18 at Roxy Theatre

St. John’s Lutheran Church, 18 S. Third St., is assembling a yearlong celebration as the church marks its 150th anniversary.

The church will be hosting a free movie day 1-4 p.m. March 18 at the Roxy Theatre, 2004 Main St., Northampton. The film is “The Star.”

Coplay Saengerbund’s heritage committee is planning a St. Patrick’s Day dance 3-6 p.m. March 19 at the club, 205 S. Fifth St.

The Joe Kroboth Band is entertaining. Dancers from the O’Grady Quinlan Academy of Irish Dance will perform.

It is open to members and guests. There is a cost.

Ironton Rail Trail Oversight Commission’s next meeting will be 7 p.m. March 21 in council chambers, 98 S. Fourth St.

The IRT Oversight Commission will hold a spring historical walk 9 a.m. March 25. Meet at the Whitehall Parkway red barn, 4041 Chestnut St.

Coplay Saengerbund announced its indoor winter evening entertainment, planned for 7-10 p.m. Musical acts include Chelsea Lyn Meyer March 25 and Chris “Breeze” Barcynski April 8.

These are open to members and their guests only. There is no cover.

The Saengerbund’s Lumpenball (Bum’s Ball) is set for 3-6 p.m. March 26. Emil Schanta Band will perform.

No reservations are needed. Come dressed down in old clothes, hats, etc.

There is a cost for members and guests.

American Club of Coplay, 300 Cherry St., is holding a ham/cash raffle March 26. Doors open noon.

Lunch is included in the ticket price.

The club is offering its monthly hoagie sales. Hoagies (regular or tuna) and sandwiches (ham and cheese or tuna) are available.

Coplay Volunteer Fire Department is holding a community egg hunt noon April 1 at Saylor Field on Keefer Street. The hunt is for kids up to 11 years old.

Coplay Recreation and Welfare Association is holding its annual Easter egg hunt 1 p.m. April 8, rain or shine, at St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, 4 S. Fifth St.
