Catasauqua: Church to host community meal

Presbyterian Church of Catasauqua, 210 Pine St., will hold its monthly free community lunch 11 a.m.-1 p.m. March 20. Come on out for some great food and camaraderie with fellow Catasauqua neighbors.

Catasauqua Community Thrift Shop is having a half-price sale on everything in the store March 20-29. The shop hours are 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays and 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesdays and Saturdays.

Volunteers are happy to accept donations of good, used, clean clothing during store hours. Proceeds from the thrift shop are returned to the community through contributions that support youth and adult programs and services.

The Catty Seniors Plus group will be meeting 1 p.m. March 22 at Slovak Center Social Club, 1233 Fifth St., North Catasauqua. Doors open noon.

St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 122 Union St., will hold a basket social March 24-26.

Forms to purchase advance tickets are located on the tables in the back of the church. You will have the option of picking up your tickets in the back of the church the following week or having them held for you to pick up at one of the basket social dates.

Presbyterian Church of Catasauqua will hold its spring flea market and bake sale 9 a.m.-1 p.m. April 1. This will be held indoors, so it’s rain or shine.

You may come in via the Pine Street chapel door. Look for the balloons.

There will be lots of goodies, including books, household items, toys, craft items and more. The bake sale promises many goodies - you won’t want to miss it!

The kitchen will once again provide breakfast and lunch items.

Catasauqua American Legion Post 215, 330 Second St., has a meat raffle set for 2-6 p.m. April 2. A free hot dog and pasta salad will be available to all ticket holders.

You can purchase tickets at the Legion. Tickets will also be available at the door.
