Carl W. Wertman, 83, of New Tripoli, died March 2, 2023, at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown. He was the husband of the late Gloria J. (Solt) Wertman. Born in New Tripoli, he was the son of the late William J.S. and Perma (Bennighoff) Wertman.

He was a dispatcher at East Penn Trucking Co. for many years and before that he worked for the former Trojan Powder Co. and General Electric.

He was a member of several local fire companies, a member of the Lynn-Heidelberg Historical Society and a member of the JOUAM Lodge #204 in New Tripoli.

He was a member of Ebenezer United Church of Christ, New Tripoli and was on the Ebenezer Cemetery Association for many years.

He enjoyed antiques, working on his house and the family farm, spending time with his friends going to auctions and the Kempton Hotel and loved being with his family.

He is survived by children, Michael C. (Kelly), of New Tripoli, Sharon L. Lotwick, of New Tripoli, Lori A. Hegedus (Charles), of Allentown; grandchildren, Jason Christman, Nicole Melnick, Tyler Terleski, Hudson and Harrison; great-grandchildren, Peyton and Teagen Christman, Dylan Melnick; several nieces and nephews.
