The Emmaus Chorale is seeking additional voices for its June concert, “It’s a Grand Night for Singing.”
This lively program, led by Artistic Director Janet Davis, gives voice to many layers of emotions behind music, from romance and beauty to spirituality and joy.
Selections span 400 years of choral music, from George Frederick Handel to Broadway composers Irving Berlin, Richard Rodgers and Andrew Lloyd Weber and contemporary composer Michael Fink. John Rutter’s jubilant “Cantate Domino,” a favorite of choristers and audiences alike, will be one of the highlights.
Weekly rehearsals begin 7 p.m. March 13 at Faith Presbyterian Church, 3002 N. Second St., Emmaus and will conclude with a public concert there 3 p.m. June 11.
The community choir, which is celebrating its 40th anniversary, is open to all and draws singers from throughout the Lehigh Valley. All voice parts are welcome; auditions are not required but previous choir experience is helpful. There are membership dues to participate.
