Shirley M.A. Knappenberger, 88, of Sacred Heart Senior Living, Northampton, and formerly of Coplay, died March 4, 2023, at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg. She was the wife of the late Warren W. Knappenberger.
Born in North Whitehall Township, she was a daughter of the late Sherman L. and Amy E. (Oswald) Rumfield.
She was a food service worker in the cafeteria of Troxell Jr. High School, Parkland School District, for 27 years before retiring in 1996.
She was a member of Union United Church of Christ, Neffs.
She is survived by three sons, Glenn W. with Pamela of Washington Township, Frank A. with Bonnie Jo of Lehigh Township and Gene with Deborah of Macungie; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a son, the Rev. James L. Knappenberger and his wife Pamela; and two siblings, Betty I. Peters and Stanley R. Rumfield Sr.
There will be a calling time 9:30-10:30 a.m., followed by a funeral service 10:30 a.m., March 9 at the funeral home, 4906 Route 309, Schnecksville.
