David S. Blose Sr., 86, of Palmerton, formerly of New Tripoli, died Feb. 28, 2023, in Scenic View Personal Home, Palmerton.

Born in Washington Township, he was a son of the late Stanley N. and Helen J. (Walters) Blose.

He and his wife, Shirley A. (Miller) Blose, were married more than 63 years.

A 1951 graduate of Slatington High School, he served his country in the U.S. Army from 1956-59.

He was a sewing machine mechanic for Halsen Products Inc., Slatington, until retiring in 1993.

He was a member of New Life Evangelical Lutheran Church, New Tripoli.

In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by his daughter Sheri Lynne (Richard) Roth of Germansville; grandchildren Evan Roth of Cumbola, and Stevie Lynne (Michael) Rodriguez of Cropseyville, N.Y.; great-grandchild Roman Rodriguez; and sister Frances H. Heil of Kempton.

He was predeceased by his son, David S. Blose, Jr., and siblings Claudine Snyder and Leroy Blose.

Per his wishes, there will be no formal services. Family and friends are invited to a celebration of life luncheon noon March 10 in Jacob’s Church social hall, 8373 Kings Highway, New Tripoli.
