Il Divo (“The Star”) is a multi-national vocal group known for operatic pop or “popera.” Il Divo was created and promoted by Simon Cowell. The male quartet originated in the United Kingdom in 2003: two classically-trained tenors, Urs Bühler and David Miller; pop singer-songwriter Sébastien Izambard, and baritone Carlos Marín, who died from COVID-19 in 2021. Il Divo performed a “Greatest Hits Tour” in 2022, adding Mexican-American baritone Steven Labrie.
