The Vikings and Vikettes both won their Eastern Pennsylvania Conference championship games Feb. 16 at the PPL Center.

The girls defeated Easton 52-49, breaking Easton’s season-long win streak and the boys fought to win against Pocono Mountain West 61-54.

Following the Vikette’s win, they rose to the #1 spot in girls basketball rankings. The Vikings played Northwestern Lehigh in a playoff game Feb. 24 at William Allen High School.

Congratulations to both teams for their successful seasons!

The spring sports season is rapidly approaching and will begin March 6. All student athletes must have a Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association Physical on file in the athletic training room, or a copy uploaded to FamilyID before March 3. If you still need a physical, Lehigh Valley Orthopedic Institute offers free physicals to all ACCHS athletes. Physicals may be scheduled at ExpressCARE locations around the area. The Central Catholic Mini Vikes will march in the Allentown St. Patrick’s Day Parade March 19.

The parade begins 1:30 p.m. and the lineup location will be determined soon. All participants are encouraged to help create and decorate the parade float March 18 in Percy Ruhe Park.

The Mini Vikes placed second with their float last year and hope to achieve first place this year. Come out for an afternoon of fun and celebration with the Mini Vikes.

Parkettes is organizing a six week clinic for children ages 6-18 wishing to join the ACC Mini Vikes Cheer and Pom program or for those that are already enrolled.

This Cheernastics Clinic will run March 15 to April 19 at Parkettes National Gymnastics Training Center, 401 Martin Luther King Drive, Allentown. Attention all bingo and purse lovers: The Allentown Central Catholic High School 2023 spring musical will host a designer purse bingo March 4 in Masson Auditorium. Doors will open 12:15 p.m. and bingo will begin 1 p.m. There is an admission charge and participants may preregister or pay at the door.

The ACCHS Cheer Team is also fundraising through a purses and prizes bingo March 26 in the Walson Center at St. John Vianney Regional School, 210 N. 18th Street, Allentown. Doors will open 1 p.m. with the first games starting 2 p.m. There is an admission charge.

ACCHS invites all partner school seventh and eighth graders to attend the Future Viking Semi-Formal Dance 7-10 p.m. March 17 in Rockne Hall. There is an admission charge and attendees may buy food and drinks. This dance provides an opportunity for future Central students to meet their peers and enjoy great music and dancing.

The theatre department will present the spring musical, “Godspell - 2012 Revised!” 7 p.m. March 30 to April 1 with a matinee 2 p.m. April 1 in Masson Auditorium.
