District News: Zephyr Elementary School science fair in the works
Zephyr Elementary School students and staff are keeping busy organizing the upcoming science fair, to be held during the May 19 open house.
On March 3, applicants will be notified of acceptance into the fair.
After-school sessions are set for March 21 and April 18 for fourth-grade students. March 28 and April 25 are the sessions for fifth grade. Accepted participants will be expected to attend these sessions to present progress and get feedback from Zephyr Elementary staff.

Whitehall-Coplay School District’s Night at the Phantoms game will begin 4:05 p.m. March 12, with a youth jersey giveaway! The first 1,500 fans 14 and under will receive a free jersey.
Five dollars from each ticket sold will benefit Zephyr Pride Foundation. Get your tickets and come join the fun!

Registration for Whitehall Police Department’s second annual youth law enforcement academy program opens March 19. The academy is available to Whitehall students or students who live in the Whitehall area in fifth and sixth grades.
This free program will run 9 a.m.-3 p.m. June 19-23 at the police department.
Registration is limited to 32 participants. Once registration is open, spots fill quickly.

WCSD’s Family Night event, celebrating the district’s cultural diversity, will be held 5:30-7:30 p.m. April 19 at WHS. The event is open to all K-12 students, families and anyone and everyone from the community.

The WHS Class of 1978 will be holding its 45-year reunion Sept. 16.

Kindergarten registration has begun for the 2023-24 school year. Parents of a child who will turn 5 before Sept. 1 can go to the WCSD website to start this process.
